Three of New Zealand most prominent and experienced writers are featured in this year’s play reading series at the Victoria Theatre.
Sunday 29 October 2023 4pm
Matthew, Mark, Luke and Joanne by Carl Nixon is a sexy, sophisticated comedy looking at relationships and moral dilemmas.
It’s 9.55pm on a Tuesday and Matthew, a trendy advertising executive, is having a profound religious awakening in the gluten free, organic and ethnic food aisle of the local supermarket. One that will change his life and the lives of his wife, Joanne, and his best friend and business partner, Mark.
But what if they don’t support Matthew? What if they think he has gone mad? What if they are only concerned with their shiny new black Audi Coupe or their yoga?
The play is a hilarious look at what happens when you realise your loved ones are not the people you thought they were.
