Cinema Italiano: Italian Film Festival
28th June - 5th July
Starting this June, The Vic is proud to be hosting special screenings for the Seventh Edition of the Italian Film Festival NZ. With a curated programme that combines the best in contemporary Italian cinema with masterpieces from Italy’s rich cinematic tradition.
Sat 2 July 4.00pm
Diego (Bisio), a successful lawyer, is chronically depressed. One day he meets Massimiliano (Sergio Rubini), owner of an eccentric shop in Chiacchiere that sells nothing except conversation. By chatting with him, Diego understands the solution to get out of his emotional slump is to do good for his loved ones.
With his new friend Massimiliano's help, Diego identifies the problems that he believes afflict his mother, father, brother, daughter, friends, even his ex-wife and concocts an elaborate plan. Unfortunately for them, Diego's best-laid plans often end up causing them the most trouble. But all is not lost, as he is determined to get it right this time.
Based on his eponymous novel and featuring a brilliant ensemble cast, writer-director Fausto Brizzi delivers a reflective comedy about friendship and the importance of listening to each other.
